“Notables” Twilight Tour: “Famous Friends, Correspondents, and Visitors”
Twilight is pure magic at the Homestead. Enjoy an evening out with light refreshments in the dining room and an informal “Notable Friends” themed stroll through the c. 1794 Homestead. Visit with interpreters in each room or follow along the self-guided tour.
Across 200+ years of Vaughan Homestead residents, their distinguished friends, correspondents and visitors have included founding fathers, presidents, authors, artisans, and even a future king! Explore oral history, personal correspondence, photographs, journals and more on this twilight tour. We’re not above a little name-dropping – some featured notables include George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John James Audubon, Sarah Orne Jewett, Julia Ward Howe, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and the list goes on . . . you don’t want to miss this tour!
