Fall Author Talk: 9/20/26

Meet Author Thomas E. Ricks

Fall is coming—and it’s the perfect time to cozy up by the fire with a good murder mystery. Join us at Vaughan Woods & Historic Homestead for an afternoon with Maine author Thomas E. Ricks, whose Ryan Tapia mystery series combines murder, mystery, and the unmistakable character of small-town Maine. If you love a twisty plot, memorable characters, and a story that keeps you guessing until the last page, this is a conversation you won’t want to miss.

Ricks will sit down with Vaughan Woods & Historic Homestead Board President Geo Gibson for a lively, book-club-style conversation about his books, the inspiration behind his characters, and why Maine makes such a wonderful setting for a murder mystery. Come meet the author, hear the stories behind the stories, and pick up your next fall read.

The Vaughan Homestead will be open for informal touring before and after the talk. Visitors are invited to enjoy refreshments in the dining room and explore a special mini-exhibit examining the Vaughans’ centuries-long love affair with books.
